Visiting from out of town and loved the neat atmosphere and friendly customer service. The pizzas (meat lovers and veggie) were delicious! Crust and everything! Would defiantly go back :) Slight downside: parking is tight! We parked by the plaza and walked over.

Nice patio, crispy whole wheat crust, generous salads, even local wine harvested at 5,800 feet, by the bottle or the glass. Very Nice. This place reminds me of a locals place in Lake Tahoe, called Lake Tahoe Pizza. UCP unlike LTP, has a patio that really works for a summer's night out. Right next to the oldest church in North America, and an awesome section of Sante Fe overall. I am raising this place to a 4 star as the food is pretty much a 3 star experience, especially for pizza hard cores. Those folks may be disappointed. Hard to say. Take the great service and ambience in, you don't get that everywhere.

Long day at work- decided to order delivery to my hotel. Perk: it was easy to order online through their website, small delivery fee and was delivered faster than originally quoted in my email. The BBQ Chicken pizza smells delicious looks delicious and oh my goodness so tasty! I would definitely recommend this spot for a delicious pizza in Santa Fe.

Ordered from here twice while in SF recently. The selections are pretty wide...lots of local options (read: green chile), plus the more traditional ones you might find. The crust is perfect; chewy and crispy where it needs to be, not over or under done, which is hard to do when you have that much goodness on top. Prices are reasonable, too. About what you'd pay for a chain, and they deliver promptly with no delivery charge. Since they often deliver to the tourists, they're so thoughtful in including paper plates, packets of cheese/red pepper flakes, and napkins. Pretty handy when you've been tromping the hills and all over town, and just don't feel like fighting the dinner crowds. Give it a try; you won't be disappointed!

Came to get a late night bite to eat after a very long day. Ordered the pepperoni and the guy at the counter was very nice. I've been there before on a previous visit, and always enjoyed the food and people watching. I only wish they had slices for purchase after the lunch time period. Aside from that, I will definitely be back there to enjoy a pizza and a beer and relax!

Best Pizza in Santa Fe. Staff works hard, is friendly, cares about putting out a high quality product. I wish they were open longer hours....,everything in Santa Fe closes early....so be careful! You need to call in your To Go or delivery order by about 9pm. ....or its, "sorry, kitchen closed"......Upper Crust has Prime, great location next to Oldest Church, rt on Old Santa Fe Trail, only a few blocks south of the Plaza; Great tasty red pizza sauce; fresh ingredients, excellent dough. Their whole wheat is good, but I like their white dough better. I've been, over 35 years of visits to Santa Fe, to every pizza place in town, including even Dominos.......my view: Upper Crust is Número Uno, by far. Thanks guys, good work!

The pizza is as good as usual, and the delivery speed is good. However, the delivery man self tipped, whom I did not get the chance to meet. The school staff member told me that the pizza delivery man got pissed off by students who does not pick up phone immediately. (mostly because we don't receive service on the campus)So he just started to self-tip. (Regardless I picked up the phone immediately) I understand that he has maybe his own reasons to do so. And the 20% tip is reasonable. But the behaviour is so rude and uncomfortable.

Very fresh ingredients. Could have a bit more sauce on pizza but I like my pizza saucy. Definitely not New York Pizza but quite good. Delivery driver and server on phone were super helpful and polite. Cannot wait to try the wheat dough.

The New Mexico pizza was delicious. The crust was amazing. Make sure to get their original crust. It's the best.

This is one of my favorite places for Gluten-free pizza, the crust is perfect and the toppings are fresh and the pizza in not drowned in cheese. Very friendly service and really enjoy the casual atmosphere.

This place is officially on the DO NOT DO IT list! I often order a greek salad for lunch, delivery, at work. Last night I ordered in a pizza and a calzone. They were embarrassingly lame. The basil I had added to the pizza was burned beyond recognition and it tasted like something that had been run over by an oven not baked in one. Why do they have to fail so miserably? I depended on them as the only non-chain pizza delivery in downtown Santa Fe. And when I rang the sordid spot to let them know the order was of a poor quality their reply was simply a curt, nay crusty,"Thank you, BYE." Well, I am listening, and so should you. When you consider this paltry pizza simply PASS. Take a page out of their book, when considering Upper Crust Pizza repeat this mantra: THANK YOU, BYE!

After craving some pizza, I came across this fine establishment here on good ol' handy dandy Yelp. Let me tell ya... this pizza is DIVINE. From the service to the food itself, I was ultimately pleased. We ordered the veggie pizza on traditional crust and it was absolutely perfect. The dude who rang us up at the register recommended to try some unique root beer that complimented the pizza wonderfully. The crust isn't droopy and soggy like other pizzas- it's crispy and crunchy to the T. If you're looking for some yummy local pizza and a cool atmosphere, this is the place to go by far.

Was told it would take less than 40 minutes for delivery. Took them an hour and fifteen. Pizza delivered less than warm. Cost of pizza with tip, 60.00 bucks for two pies. Not the delivery guys fault so I have a nice tip. Called to complain. They didn't care one bit.

Loved the Greek salad and we snuck the whole wheat crust in on kids and they liked it. So nice sitting outside with breeze and walking right next store while waiting for pizza to see oldest church in U.S. SUPER quick service!

First time in Santa Fe and we didn't want Mexican for lunch. Found this listed and good reviews. They're correct! You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. Try the whole wheat crust it's crispy and delicious.

  • John S.

Me and the wife got a half n half pizza delivered. One half Veggie and the other the New Mex. Both were delicious in my opinion. This meat eater actually preferred the veggie. The green chilies and sesame seeds make it. This is a winner for the price.

The food is good, fresh. They have a patio, and it's pretty close to downtown/the plaza (aka walkable). We had a chef salad and small pizza, with sodas and it was $30. Not bad but not great prices. The have beer and wine, and many selections of build your own pizza (sandwiches and salads too). Not bad for close to downtown.

The salmon salad is excellent. It is large enough for two. The small pizza has 6 slice...fresh toppings. We love it.

The best pizza in Santa Fe! Definitely upper crust. Our favorite - the Vegetarian pie heaped with fresh veggies - thick crispy crust. Nice patio just down the street from the oldest house in Santa Fe and up the street from Historic Downtown Santa Fe Plaza. Pizza goes down great with a beer. Wide selection to choose from. A place for those who thumb their noses at greasy pizza.

  • Diego L.

Pizza is good, but not out of this world good. Had the large combo pizza. Whenever I eat at a local pizza place I have to compare the pizza to a large chain pizza like Pizza Hut because i know that I'm purposely paying way more than I would at one of those places. I know I can go to Pizza Hut, get a large pizza for 12 bucks, and have a so-so pizza experience, so when I pay 23 dollars for a pizza, I expect a WAY better pizza. This pizza was better, but not by much. I would give this three stars, but it took entirely too long to get a pizza. When I ordered at the counter, I was quoted 15 minutes, and I know that's generally just an estimate, but the actual time was 36 minutes. By then, I had finished my drink, and then I was told by the guy that brought out our pizza that he would bring more. He did not, so I had to go up to the counter and get it myself. That's not a huge deal, but I don't like being told one thing and that not happen. Perhaps it's better just as take out.

Nice place and tasty food. The veggie pizza is topped with sesame and tastes great! If you are up for pizza in Santa Fe, you should try this place.

  • Samuel C.

Pretty good pizza. Service is commendable. Atmosphere is a little dank, unless it is warm out, and then the patios are enjoyable. Wine glasses are plastic and skimpy on the amount. You can bring your pooch on the patio if well behaved.

Update: following my negative review and the picture I took of the messed up pizza I received, Upper Crust complained to Yelp and got my picture taken down. This means there is AT LEAST one more bit of negative feedback that HAS BEEN CENSORED. Bad product and bad ethics. I'm telling everyone in Santa Fe to avoid this place.

  • Anthony R.

Pizza is great. I sat on the balcony for the first time and it was amazing. I usually order it from the Draft Station (formerly Marble) in the same building. It was pretty awesome. The only downside was the chicken being like every other cheap restaurant that keeps it in water or something and cubed instead of a fresh piece of chicken per pizza.

  • Christina I.

Several little pizza places in downtown area which made for good food outside of everything with green chili. We had the Sunny Chicken Pesto Pizza. The small was a great size for two people to share. Crust was good and crispy. We liked it!

Okay, so I am not one to write bad reviews, but when I first came here to Santa Fe I ordered a gluten free pizza at Upper Crust and absolutely loved it, so I probably ordered a pizza once a week. NO LIE. But, then I ordered a pizza one evening and it came cold, didn't complain because it happens, so I tried again, and once again it came cold. So, I thought I would give this place one more chance to make up for two bad pizza's, but I ordered tonight and my pizza seriously was cold again. WTH???!!! I mean come on people, you charge $15.00+ for a large pizza, I would think that you could keep your pizza's warm if not hot while being delivered. Three strikes and you're out!

My all time favorite pizza in the world... This place rocks. If I ever go back to Santa Fe, we are having pizza at Upper Crust. Pizza can be made to order, but i'd recommend the "New Mex" with red chilies.

Best pizza...looking for something different from Mexican food. ..try Upper Crust pizza...they delivered to my hotel..we're on time and it was delicious. Sausage was spicy..but liked it.

Loved the pizza crust at this pizzeria. It was crispy and helds it's crunch through to the end. I'm Italian and very rarely find pizzerias who know what they're doing when it comes to the base. Toppings were interesting and you can choose your own too. They deliver to your hotel if your staying at hotel in the plaza area too. Highly recommend this place if your visiting Santa Fe .

We had delivery to our hotel room from Upper Crust Pizza so I can only attest to the food and not the actual restaurant. The delivery was prompt and the delivery guy was nice. We ordered six pizzas and four salads. The salads were a nice mix of vegetables including alfalfa sprouts, carrots, cucumbers, onions, lettuce, and tomatoes. The pizzas we got were green chili, meat feast, pepperoni, and vegetable. The pizzas were a good size and were delicious! The crust is on the thin side but is crunchy. The toppings were perfect proportions so you got a little of everything in one bite. The green chili was my favorite. If you are looking for take-out or delivery pizza, I would highly recommend this joint.

I know, who gets pizza in Santa Fe when you are surrounded by some of the best Southwestern restaurants? My friend and I were starving after a 6 hour drive and this place had the cutest outdoor patio we just had to check it out! I ordered the Veggie pizza and it was delicious. The vegetables and cheese were so fresh, the crust was light and crispy, and I loved the sprinkle of sesame seeds on top! Satisfying and healthy, hope to go back.

Fantastic pizza on a real crust. Got the meat treat... When you pick it up, it doesn't droop in your hand...it's a crust and it's good. I've been a lot of places ave pizza is my thing. This one is a winner.

We had a great experience here. We had a pepperoni pizza, Greek salad, and one of the local brews. The service was quick and friendly, even to obvious out-of-towners like us. The crust was hand tossed, and not too thick. The sauce was expertly applied and flavorful. We are very happy to have found this place.

Good pie, and they deliver and are quick with take out when you call. Also, suggest you call and order your pie, even if yu are planning on eating it there. There are generally plenty of tables, and on busy nights, it can take awhile to get served. A little edge on the sausage, but it's good, and all ingredients are fresh. The wood fire can make it a bit overdone, but it's a great crust, and a cool vibe.

Totally not trying to be snobby, I swear! I visited Santa Fe from New York and had crazy pizza cravings. I had little no to expectations for a decent slice and Upper Crust had good reviews, so we ordered. I got a plain cheese pizza and my friend ordered a sandwich. It was ready when we picked it up and totally surprised me at first bite. It was really good! The crust was golden and bubbly and the cheese and sauce tasted fresh. My friend enjoyed her sandwich as well. Is it NY pizza or anything close? No- but it was super good and I didn't expect anything close 2,000 miles away from home. Definitely visiting on my next visit.

Have spent many years in the Santa Fe and Taos on vacation. Fortunately these towns are stacked full of great food and drink. If we are in the mood for pizza which does happen after being here for a few weeks, we typically head to the Taos Outback which is notorious for a great slice. That being said, we stopped by the Upper Crust today and were pleasantly surprised by their pizza. My wife and ordered the Combo which included pepperoni, olives, green chiles and mushrooms. Definitely a solid choice as the green chiles made the pie. Definitely worth a trip and we will be back.

Cozy pizza place! We smelled the pizza before we got inside and were greeted by friendly staff. My husband and I shared a small pizza and were so satisfied. The pizza sauce wasn't very complex but it was still good. There wasn't too much sauce on the pizza but I like my pizza with less sauce and more toppings. The crust really stills the show and it perfectly crunchy and soft!

Go somewhere else. If this is the best pizza in Santa Fe, then Santa Fe does not know good pizza. I ordered a calzone with pepperoni and black olives. What I received was green olives. I saw the ticket and the ticket definitely said black olives. He offered to remake it . I was hungry so I kept it. The worst food combination I've tasted in a long while. My friend who ordered before me still hasn't gotten her food. I check on it. It was never sent. An hour later she finally gets her food. They brought us a complementary slice if cheesecake for the trouble. The cheesecake was good ( hence the 2 stars and not one star) but the marinara sauce was too clogged up with garlic. This place was not for me. I thought the pizza portion sizes were too small for the high price.

Do not order home delivery from this place! I was told that it will reach in 45 minutes and then I called once it was already past 45 mnts. I was told the guy will be there in 20 minutes. 20 minutes past still no delivery! I called again and again 20 minutes. I was told guy has just left the building. The attendee had no idea what she was talking about and she herself was not sure if the food would be delivered.

this place is always amazing!! since the first time me and my wife went it's always been really good. sometimes they take a little longer to get your pie out, but its worth worth the wait. love the sunday night atmosphere with live music a guy and his guitar. best pizza i had in years.

Service was all right, but the food was really good, if a bit pricey--though it is right downtown, so no surprise there. Kids were happy.

A-freaking-mazing! I followed the advice of a yelper to get the veggie whole wheat crust pizza and was not disappointed. Even my carnivore boyfriend didn't feel deprived chowing down on this! Service is fast, prices are reasonable, and parking isn't nearly as tricky as a lot of downtown places.

Great pizza! Love the wheat crust and green chilies. They tend to be REALLY busy, particularly on weekends. Delivery orders can take 45-60 minutes but are completely worth it. If you dine-in, either get there early, don't come too hungry or get a salad. Pizza is terrific and worth the wait. We live in Northern California and we get Upper Crust every time we are in Santa Fe (about 1-2 times a year).

This place has the best garlic cheese bread I've ever had! The pizza is really good too. The crust is to die for. Crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Delicious!

I truly think this is the best pizza in Santa Fe..The pepperoni pizza is perfect..the staff is friendly and it is a very comfortable setting..Also, they have live music on Sunday afternoons..

This is solid pizza in Santa Fe. Don't be fooled by the name, it's not a pretentious Santa Fe spot. It's a casual spot where friends can sit in a cool place sharing a pizza and pitcher of beer. The patio is amazing. The Mediterranean (or Greek, can't remember what the name is) is so tasty. Super garlicky -- like you want to stop eating it because the garlic is so intense but instead it keeps calling and calling you back for more. And I don't know if it is the altitude or magic, but their crust is at once super crunchy and light and doughy. Yum.

Upper Crust: a True Icon. Well it used to be, walked in and ordered meat lovers. Took way too long and service horrible. Poor service and over rated price. On top of that, the pizza was terrible. ... Go here if you like horrible service, over priced pizza, and a lousy pizza.

This is how they do pizza in New Mexico. Apparently. I wouldn't know that because I didn't have pizza. We'll get back to that in a bit Wandering around in the historic part of Santa Fe and looking for a place to eat can be rather daunting. There are so many places to choose from. That is not a bad thing. I've been eating a lot of Mexican type food since I've been here and saw that the sign for this place said they've been there since 1979. Longevity. Sign me up. I decided that pizza wasn't going to cut it. Looking at the menu I thought that a calzone might cut it. I had the Whole wheat Calzone. Whole wheat pizza dough wrapped around spinach, tomatoes, three cheeses and pesto sauce. This was served with a salad (Spicy Thai dressing for me) and a side of potato chips. All for $8.25 plus tax. I'm not used to the tax thing. The calzone was a pretty good size and mighty tasty. The salad dressing was spicy and the chips were probably Lays. The place had a hippy vibe. Very laid back. Also a bottle of Colorado beer was $5. $5 for a bottle of beer? Crazy. All in all a good place amongst probably many many good restaurants in this part of Santa Fe. Oh. One more thing. Don't order a water here. It tastes like iodine.

Quite possibly the best pizza I've ever had. :) the cheese was insanely flavorful. And I asked for jalapeños on my pepperoni pizza..the jalapeños were fresh! That was a pleasant surprise. Mmmmmm

I came to Upper Crust once in my 2 Months in NM and I can say I did enjoy it. I am a picky pizza eater, but very much enjoyed my meal. It was a little on the pricey side. I also didn't think it was very beneficial that I had to fight the line again in order to have a refill on my water.

I like to visit restaurants that inspire me to taste food in different ways. Sometimes a simple ingredient can seem so complex when placed against complimentary ingredients. Upper Crust has a "vegetable" pizza, it is a pretty simple pizza. Mostly standard toppings like; mushroom, bell pepper, onion, black olive, fresh tomato but then they add a little New Mexican flair by adding green chili and sesame seed. The wheat crust was nice too, it added a slightly different texture then the normal crust. BTW love the hippy, earth mama logo. Awesome.

I ended up at Upper Crust the way I suspect most people do: You are near the Plaza. You are starving. You are looking for a somewhat inexpensive meal, or at least inexpensive by Santa Fe standards. You have just survived what feels like the World's Longest Drive across New Mexico and are in need of some serious comfort food. OK, maybe that last one is just me. Pizza sounded so good before the bombardment of green chilies that I knew was to come in the days ahead. We ordered half pepperoni, half cheese. Kinda boring, but like I said above: comfort food. It took a while to come out but hey, it's pizza. If it's any good, you're usually going to wait. Plus, we were enjoying the evening air on the patio, so we didn't mind. Now, I like a thicker crust on a pizza. And unfortunately, every decent pizza place in my town insists upon offering only the thinnest version of New York-style crust. So when I saw that the Upper Crust pie had a more substantial crust, I was excited. And it was...good. Not the best, but it was refreshing to have a different style of pizza. The large was sufficient enough to feed two very hungry people with enough for leftovers. Santa Fe has so many excellent dining options that I wouldn't necessarily make a point to seek out Upper Crust. But if you have a pizza craving, it will definitely hit the spot.

  • Shane B.

Ahh, kinda so-so. Pizza was decent. We had the veggie. The chiles were good but not spicy enough to deliver anything special. Crust was nice and crispy for tossed style which means they let the dough warm and sorta over proof which when done correctly, as this was, makes for a nice crispy crust. Greek salad was decent but again, nuttin special. Veggie sandwich on sourdough was in desperate need of flavor. Avocado cheese, sprouts, canned black olives, tomato... Ho-hum.

I enjoy UpperCrust every once in a while when I can enjoy some pizza. It's a chill and laid back environment with a great staff (although the occasional red eye makes for a slight wait), yet you know the food will be "magically" delicious because of the detail of the hands making it!

  • Heather M.

I'm a fan. We ordered a vegetarian pizza on a wheat crust and it was delicious. The veggies were fresh, and the sesame seeds added a nice touch. The wheat crust also made me feel slightly guilt-free about eating a pizza. The employee who served us, Roxanne, was super nice and helpful. I saw a few hater reviews for this place, and those people maybe don't realize that in Santa Fe - you are going to pay Santa Fe prices. Beer is the same price across town, and so is the food. As for the people who didn't like the pizza - pizza is different in every region - that's part of the fun of traveling. Did you know that in Puerto Rico, Chinese food comes with french fries? Seriously.

Awesome gluten free crust, some of the best I've ever had! The place is very funky and unique, and really fits in to the local scene. Just a great spot for pizza!

Excellent Pizza! We had them deliver and even though we were out of their delivery area, Upper Crust obliged on a pretty snowy day. Yeah! We ordered 2 pies - Combo and the Meat Treat. The crust and red sauce were just about perfect. My favorite was the Combo which was sort of an all meat pizza with green chile. Not sure, I understand some of the negative reviews. They are moronic. So, these brainiac tourists are upset beacuse they decided on a pizza instead of some authentic local cuisine and it wasn't as good as whatever they get back home. Frickin-genius. Here is the bottom line, if you are in Santa Fe and you crave pizza, Upper Crust rocks. If you are pizza snob, not much is going to work for you other than the same local place you go to all the time and rave about. In which case, go home :-)

Mmmmm yum yum yum. I came here one night while in town for a good ol' piece of Southwest pie. Yet upon arriving I found myself not very hungry. Hmph. Oh well, good thing they have calzones! Instead of getting a pizza I ordered a mozzarella, onion, green chile, and sausage calzone. Holy heavenly delight! After the first bite I was mesmerized. Next time I'm in the area I'll definitely be stopping by here again!

Rude delivery driver who didn't think he was tipped enough and very vocal about it. 10% for a delivery is the going rate back home, and we were less than half a mile away, but I guess everything is more expensive here and rude service is not uncommon. The pizza itself may use all natural ingredients, but this does not excuse the grease and blandness. Guess I won't be a returning customer.

I ordered four pizzas for a class party at my college, and I was a little but disappointed. The disappointment came from hearing things like, "upper crust is awesome!!" and "upper crust is the best pizza in Santa Fe!" If Upper Crust IS the best pizza in Santa Fe, I am disheartened -- not because it's inedible, but because it's definitely not memorable. And those babies are expensive!! I think a large is 15'' and most of my larges were around $21. That's a pretty pricy pizza! The crust... which... I'm guessing they are advertising through their name... was bland enough that I regretted eating someone's extra crust piece. Also, I spent $80-something on four pizzas... that's...yea.... Maybe the deep dish is better.

This place gets 5 stars for being the only restaurant/bar that was open and serving people during a power outage and rainstorm the other day. While just about every other place in the vicinity greeted us with a, "Power's out (no shit)- no-electricity-K-bye-THANKS!!!!", Upper Crust was still serving cold food and selling beers if you paid in cash. We came to find out that a couple other places stayed open, but all of the others in the vicinity didn't seem interested in accommodating anyone. These guys kept things going and made sure we had a good time.

For some reason I always avoided this place. Maybe because I felt that I could eat pizza anywhere and it wasn't something I searched for in Santa Fe. I had walked past it a thousand times. This time I was showing a friend the town. It was convenient since we were strolling around the plaza, so why not? We walked in and ordered at the counter. Then decided to have a seat outside since it was nice. Their little porch is perfect and I'm glad it didn't feel packed full of people, even though quite a few had sat to wait for their pie. We got the margherita pizza with wheat crust. The crust was perfect. It was crisp on outside and soft and hot on the inside. It pulled apart just right. The sauce was really nice and light and they didn't have alot on it. It had just the right amount of cheese. I was stuffed by the time we got done! It was a nice break from the chiles and New Mexican food.

Bottom line: BBQ Chicken Pizza mighta been the best BBQ chicken pizza I've ever had! Thats what made me write this review. Since I'm here though: (Service): Proper and well timed (Decor): Normal (Side of Ranch): Free (Bonus): We ordered a pitcher of iced tea and they offered us another refill for free Hahaha, thats all I have to say about that.

After driving 8 miles into town to pick up and husband specifically telling them that I cannot have blue cheese, they somehow decide to give me blue cheese dressing (rather than the advertised vinaigrette) and blue cheese crumbles. When we got back to our hotel and I opened my salad, I called them. They told me that I could either go to the grocery store or drive back into town for salad dressing. $8.50 for a spinach salad that I can't eat... The guy on the phone hung up on me. It's not rocket science; you screw up an order, offer to take the charge off the card or invite the customer to come back for a salad or small pizza on the house another day. Although we probably won't have the time; the gesture would have diffused the situation. I've been in the restaurant industry; these people are clueless.

The Yelpers were right. This place was great. Perfect for delivery when you're tired from shopping and want to stay in. We got the Greek pizza and it was plenty for 2 (small). The spinach salad was the best I've had from a pizza place and was giant.

Delicious pizza, but hard to justify the cost and hype. We ordered a large half veggie half new Mex and it was enough for 3 people. Very tasty and a terrific amount of toppings, just be prepared to spend a lot of dough for this dough.

Super great service. They boxed our to go order perfectly and with extra nice chatting as I asked them about the local area. Their salad was good and pizza was great! They don't carry hard cider yet, but they had lots of beer bottles on the wall for easy choosing. I like that. They also had chicken as a topping, so I got that and it was the perfect end to a perfect vacation in Santa Fe. (^:=

We were so hungry at our recent touristy trip to Santa Fe and we bumped into this place by Chapel San Miguel so we decided to give it a try. We got the New Mexican Pizza, the small one, which was under 15 bucks just for snacks. the pizza was of course, you guessed, spicy, and it somehow lacks in the meat department. the cheese was great, watch out because it is extremely hot. i would say they serve their pizzas not ready to munch on, i would suggest giving it a few minutes to make it "eatable" 3 stars because our pizza took so long and we were the only one there. the place is ala-pueblo style, which is definitely unique and the experience is just ok. i've had better pizzas.

We were a bit hesitant about dining here since, like Oscar, we wanted to take in the Southwest experience. But we're glad that we did. The pizza was a nice deep dish filled with a generous helping of toppings. The large side salad was incredible. Lots of fresh greens, carrots, baby tomatoes with a tangy fresh balsamic dressing. I was really pleased with the entire experience. Its not everyday you get to eat in a pizza joint abutted next to the oldest building in the US. With limited seating, the friendly counter guy told us to sit in the back. (We were later informed that the patio seating was reserved for seated guests... but the waitress was nice enough to accommodate us.) I would definitely recommend this to friends and fellow travelers.

I know it's pretty lame to travel all the way out to New Mexico and waste your taste buds on a non-southwestern dish like pizza, but after two days of feasting at every meal on regional cuisine, I was pretty much green chile-ed out and seeking something simple and familiar for dinner. Plus Upper Crust was almost literally just a few steps from where I was staying. I ordered the Meat Treat pizza (nice touch that they allow you to add a veggie topping to cut the meatiness a bit). The crust was thick/puffy around the perimeter -reminded me a bit of pizza I had in Hawaii a few years back but less overwhelming crust-wise. The cheese was nice and gooey and toppings were substantial. Certainly not the best meal I enjoyed in NM, but good enough for one lazy, low-maintenance dinner.

Upper crust was definitely no downer must. get the veggie trio, you must trust. Me. The wheat dough, was chill you know. The false sense of nutrition brings the taste to fruition. The za was nothing short of lush, but keep that on the hush, this local fav doesn't need the dinner rush. However, I must remiss, the parking is a huge huge miss. Double park in the alley. No, really. Double park in the alley.

I ordered with fresh mozarella and maybe that was my mistake but there was hardly any cheese on my pizza and waaayyyy too much sauce. probably wont go back

I ordered the New Mexican Pizza. The chorizo sausage was burnt and nearly non existent. The onions were way to plentiful, it was poorly sauced and it was extremely expensive. Overall, if this is the best Santa Fe has to offer it's best to just stay away from pizza.

Yea, it is upper crust. The attitude... is upper crust. Like upper lip, and sometimes lots of it. Upper Crust has employed some redeeming quality-less yuppie pissants over the years, people who have taken great pleasure in snootily scoffing at any customer request that requires some semblance of WORK ETHIC. Being an occasional repository for pubescent prep school part timers will do that to a place. Granted, I haven't the slightest idea who's working there today, but it still stings enough to dock otherwise decent pizza a star or two. Decent is the word for it. Yes, a green chile, garlic, onion and fresh tomato pizza is both a recipe for offensive breath *and* delicious, but the pizza itself is nowhere near a monument to the art form. This was one of Santa Fe's best attempts at thick crust long ago, it lumbers along to this day, but now there is better. The late Tony's Pizza on Cerrillos had my stamp until they closed their doors some 8 or more years ago. Today there are enough other similarly styled joints to shop around and be satisfied. Rooftop comes to mind. Three stars: Two for the business, one because I'm feeling sentimental.

Maybe deserved a three star but they forgot our order for 45 minutes...we were sitting at a table directly across from the order window and they could easily see us. They didn't even check on our pizza after we went to the counter to order our second round of beer. The crust was the best part...crispy but not burnt or greasy on the bottom, just the right amount of thickness and pillowy soft. We ordered the whole grain but got the regular crust. Not a big deal but would've like to try it. We ordered a half veggie (for me) / half meat lovers (for my wife). The meat lovers was good but the veggie was bland. The problem was too much cheese and not enough sauce. So the delicate flavors of the veggies were drowned out but the cheap cheese they use. Now the beer selection was worth very good. Local brews and decent selection. Cashier was helpful enough to recommend the excellent Santa Fe Brewery Comp's Hefeweizen. Maybe the kitchen was having a bad night...and if I lived in town I would try it again, there are plenty of great reviews on here. But for me I was sadly disappointed.

Well... the pizza is good. They have a colorful selection for those who crave meaty goodness or something without meat at all. I chose a chicken pesto pizza with sun dried tomatoes. It was good... but not bursting with flavor like I was hoping. Large selection of beers (even Shiner!). I sampled a local ale which was nice and crisp. Overall.... wasn't the amazing pizza place I had remembered from my youth. Funky hippies working there is a plus, though!

I went here on a food tour, so I really can't comment on the service since they were ready for us. I really liked the Sunny Chicken Pesto pizza, and that's coming from a person that really doesn't like specialty pizzas. They have a great patio, and I'd love to try this place out again sometime!

This pizza was just amazing! The crust was perfection, the sauce was spot on and packed full of flavor, and the toppings were fresh and full of flavor. It's a bit pricy but worth every penny. The only down side was the pizza is sold as large and small only. A medium size would have been perfect for us...but on the bright side...we had pizza for breakfast!

We're in Santa Fe for a week on vacation and this looked like a good place for lunch and we were not disappointed. The pizza was delicious especially the crispy wheat crust. My wife is very critical about pizzas that don't have enough sauce. She didn't have anything to complain about, the pizza we ate had plenty of sauce. It was very tasty. I see now what the place is a local favorite.

This was really good. Pizza was packet with fresh, clean, and well balanced flavor. The dough and crusts were fresh and baked just the right amount. Cheese-sauce balance was spot on as was the amount and quality of toppings. We really enjoyed the porch out the front, looking across the river at the cathedral in the heart of old town. The rustic and fresh flavor is a perfect fit for the old town Santa Fe location next to America's oldest house, filled with rustic charm.

Decent pizza - good crisp crust... but it ain't no New York coal oven za. ;) But, for what it is, delicious. The main reason we went, however, was because a friend recommended the greek salad. ?? Ok, whatever, but we ordered one and it arrived -- the guy delivering it to our table just kept staring at it before setting it down. Finally he said, "I believe this is the prettiest salad I've ever made". Obviously proud of his work. I asked if he wanted a picture, and he said "yes, do you have a camera???" and posed with his creation. Pretty hilarious. It was a damn good looking salad - artfully arranged and generous on the portions. Damn tasty too. Another nice touch was the live music. There was a guitar player who just started his set as we were leaving, sounded lovely. I love the idea of tailgating with this pizza and salad at the opera - will try that next time we're in town!

Heads up: the large pizza is truly LARGE! We thought we could split the pizza between 2 people, but we barely made a dent in it. It's a shame though: the pizza is really good. I thought their crust had a good balance between chewiness and crispiness. The sauce was pretty good, although, a little too tart for my taste. I'm not a pizza expert, but I definitely think this is one of the better pizza places I've eaten at in awhile. Good job Upper Crust!

And here I go again...searching for that NY style or at least tasty pizza. Well not here, but it was a cold night we were in that area and I was starving.....Of course I ate it, I was hungry, would I go back NO! Service was good, probably the ingredients are top notch, but they way they put them together does not work...;( At least it was fairly priced...

First, I have to say that I have never been a pizza fan. However, our son thought Pizza was a major food group, so I've seen a lot of them in my lifetime. When I tasted a real pie from Upper Crust I became a believer. We eat here often and also have been known to let them deliver when we are feeling like slugs. The front porch is ideal for people watching, and having the oldest church next door sanctifies the whole experience. If you're tired of "red or green" this is the place to visit.

One of the best pizzas that I have ever eaten!!!!!!!!! I had the meat treat and new mex pizza. Plenty of meat toppings, LOADS of cheese and full of flavor!! I almost ate a large pizza all by myself! Yes, it was that GOOD!

Consistently delicious. Odd as it may seem, we do our opera tailgating enjoying a tasty pizza (or two!) from Upper Crust. Our parking lot neighbors always include some with sterling silver wine chillers and even a candelabra or two, but I'm certain we are enjoying great food right along with them.

It's hard to give a good rating for service at a place without wait service, but the staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was good, but not great. The pizza didn't have much sauce, and the supposed smoked salmon turned out to be grilled. They had a good selection of local beers and wines. It's a relatively cheap place to get dinner in Santa Fe.

Ever since my wife and I ate at Upper Crust Pizza we have been comparing all pizza to it. I thought it was amazing. There are a lot of good pizza spots here in Albuquerque but it is hard for them to compare to Upper Crust. I have considered making a trip up to Santa Fe just for another taste. It is well worth the hassle trying to find parking to eat here, don't drive past it any more spot in and try a slice or a whole pie. Loved it!

  • Brian W.

Pretty good pizza. You can get it by the pie or the slice. They also sell beer - always a good thing. There's plenty of seating both inside and outside. We paid $30 for a large supreme-type pizza with 2 beers. Would go to again. N.B. - doesn't look to be related to the Upper Crust in Boston.

It was a good pizza near the plaza. Eating outside in the fresh air was nice, but i think it was a bit hyped up because of its location. I doubt I would go back again.

We ordered the Meat Lovers pizza and it was plenty of food for four people. I thought it was good. Friends ordered the Margherita pizza and didn't quite like it as much. Decent size with enough places to sit and a small outside area.

Very good pizza, excellent variety. My favorite is the veggie on whole wheat. The sandwiches are also really tasty. Limited delivery area. Really great service.

During our time in Santa Fe, we ate here twice (well, we ate in the restaurant once and the other time we got delivery to our hotel). The first time, when we ate in, we got the lunch special, which is a slice with 1 topping, a side salad, and a drink for less than $5. In Santa Fe, you'll be hard-pressed to find a better deal for lunch. What sets the pizza apart, aside from the price, though is the freshness of ingredients they use. I just love getting a slice of pizza with whole slice of basil baked right in!

At about 1:30 PM I was told delivery would take 45 minutes, and it did. I'd ordered a large combo pizza with a "wheat" crust, made with a mixture of white and whole wheat flour. The cost was $22 and I tipped the guy $4. It arrived warm, not hot.The colors of the toppings were reassuringly vivid and the crust was browned to perfection--it was the prettiest delivery pizza I'd seen in a long time. Crust: Thicker than a New York thin slice, denser than a California or Naples style crust. Good chew. Slightly nutty flavor from the whole wheat, which is probably also the reason for the density, since all-white flour has an airier rise. Cheese: Eh. Toppings: The pepperoni is all right, and the olives are the brined-and-sliced variety, with a lovely curl from a hot oven. The green chiles look terrific but taste like not much. Sauce: A problem. No detectable tomato taste in a mouthful of this pie, despite a bright red sauce visible everywhere. Undersalted to my taste. Verdict: A classic American pizza lives and dies on three elements: crust, cheese, sauce. I give the crust a 7 out of 10, the cheese a 4, and the sauce a 3, making this one solidly average pizza.

Came here late on a Sunday, as many places were closed. Had pizza and a dinner salad in our party. The salad didn't look especially outstanding, but was surprisingly tasty. Their pizza crusts are the way I like them, not too thin, but crispy on the outside and a little bit of softness inside. Would come again if ever in the pizza mood in Santa Fe, which is probably never going to occur again.

We ordered out and took the pizza home. It was very good. Closest to East Coast type crust that I have had outside New Jersey. Nice ambiance. They have a little backyard wine & Beer garden. Two thumbs up!

Still good pizza. I worked here as a teen, so I know it gets quality food. I'm not big on the wheat crust either, never was. I'm partial to a modified Greek pizza. I take the bells of and add pepperoni.

YUMMMMMMMM!!!!!!! We got a 20" veggie pizza, half without cheese, with green chile on it, and whole wheat crust... and it was soooo good! The crust aaaand the sauce was really good. I liked it! It makes me sad that it's all the way in Santa Fe, New Mexico =(

They offer beer on tap which is good. They deliver to a limited area which is good. The employees are pretty hip and cool which is good. They have a centralized downtown location which is good. They have both indoor and outdoor seating which is good. They offer a whole wheat crust, which tastes pretty terrible... But simply enough, ever since Back Road Pizza came to town, I stopped eating pizzas from Upper Crust. The taste difference of every pizza offered alone dropped me from the list of fans of Upper Crust... I feel bad about it, but there's simply a better pizza place in town and Upper Crust has dropped the ball in being relevant to me.

  • Jenny K.

Really? this place got 4 stars? Maybe this is the best pizza Santa Fe has to offer and Maybe pizza isn't very important in New Mexico since there are so many other delicious things to eat. But in my opinion, this was barely better than Pizza Hut and definitely not worth raving about.

I have tried this place twice, and I don't know what all the buzz is about. Decent ambiance. Helpful staff. But only mediocre pizza. Pizza toppings were good and fresh, but cheese was too heavy and gloppy, and crust lacked any crispness at all.
